What an explainer video company does
An explainer video company is a studio that specialises in short videos that explain a product or service, usually animated. The classic process has five or six stages: brief, script, style frames and storyboard, voice-over, animation and sound, then revisions. Each stage has a client review, which is where most of the time goes: Vidico breaks a 60–90 second project into one to two weeks of script, about a week of storyboard, two to three weeks of animation and a week of revisions (Vidico).
That process is a strength when the story is hard to tell and the video will run for years. It is a constraint when your product changes every month and each release needs its own video.

What you actually receive from each
Compare the deliverables, not the label. A studio quote usually covers one master video at the agreed length, with the script, storyboard and voice-over as stages along the way; extra formats, cut-downs and source files are often line items. Some studios include project files, others sell them as an add-on (Breadnbeyond lists source files as included in two of its three packages, for example, per its pricing page).
With Sitso Pro, each video comes as 4K masters in 16:9 and 9:16 plus 3 thumbnails, with voice and music included, in the language of your choice, and the validated video is yours to use commercially. There are no project files to hand over: changes are made by asking Sitso, in plain words, as many times as you need until you validate.
The yearly maths, if you need more than one video
Most SaaS teams don't need one explainer; they need a launch video, then a feature clip most months, then ads. Using the July 2026 median agency quote of $9,680 per explainer (Yum Yum Videos), four project-based videos a year come to about $38,700, and each one takes weeks. Sitso Pro on the annual plan is $25,000 for twelve videos up to 1:15 (two months free), each delivered in under 4 hours, with voice, music, 4K 16:9 and 9:16 and 3 thumbnails included.
That comparison only holds if the videos are comparable for your needs. A two-minute character story with a professional voice actor is a different product from a 60-second product video, and the right studio is worth its price for it. Our explainer video cost guide breaks prices down by style and line item.
When an explainer video company is the better choice
Be honest about the job. An explainer studio is the right partner when:
- The story needs recurring characters, hand-drawn animation or a strong illustrated world.
- You need live action, real presenters or filmed customers.
- The video runs longer than 1:15, or is part of a multi-channel campaign.
- You want workshops, strategy and a dedicated team across several months.
When Sitso is the better choice
Sitso was built for the opposite constraints: frequency and speed.
- You need a launch video, a feature clip or a demo this week, not next quarter.
- Your real interface should be the hero, in your brand, read from your site.
- You don't have time to write briefs and review storyboards: Sitso proposes three ideas and you change anything in plain words.
- You want a consistent series across the year rather than one film.
Sitso videos are made with AI and reviewed by quality judges before delivery; characters are always stylised and no real people are generated. Judge it on your own product with a free 20-second teaser.
How to compare quotes fairly
Whichever way you go, put every offer in the same grid before deciding:
- Length and number of videos per year
- Formats included (16:9, 9:16, cut-downs, thumbnails)
- Script, voice and music: included or extra, and the license scope
- Revision rounds and the cost of the next one
- Time from brief to final files
- Who owns the final and project files
