How to brief a motion design video: a simple checklist
Eight questions to answer before any motion video, whether you work with an agency, a freelancer or Sitso.
By Régis Doleagbenou · updated
THE SHORT ANSWER
A good brief answers eight questions: goal, audience, key message, must-show screens, tone, length and formats, call to action, and where the video will live. With Sitso, two or three sentences are enough: it reads the rest from your site.
The checklist
Answer each in one line:
- Goal: what should viewers do after watching?
- Audience: who exactly is watching?
- Key message: the one sentence to remember.
- Must-show: the screens or features that have to appear.
- Tone: confident, funny, calm, bold?
- Length and formats: 16:9, 9:16?
- Call to action: one only.
- Where it lives: site, ads, e-mail, sales.

Frequently asked questions
Not with Sitso. It directs the look itself, mixing the techniques that fit your story. If you have a reference, tell it why you like it.
